There is a good news for those facing language barriers while pursuing their research.
Technology giant Google recently made an announcement about the launch of an upgraded version of the Google Translate App. This app will now allow instant visual translations of printed text in several languages. Take an easy breath as this also includes Hindi.

The process to operate this app is quite simple and handy. The only thing you need to do is to open the app and then click on the camera. Here you need to point it at the text for which you want translation.

The text could vary. It could be anything, from a street sign to a hoarding, from dials on a washing machine to text from a newspaper or else a book or from ingredient list to an instruction manual.

There is another good news! This translation process doesn’t require either any Internet connection or any cell phone data. This is because Google here has used convolutional neural networks to help develop this technology.

There are basically seven languages which are English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. And to benefit more users, Google has now added 20 more languages.

Hence users can now benefit to and from English and Bulgarian, Croatian, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Filipino, Dutch, Finnish, Indonesian, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Polish, Norwegian, Romanian, Swedish, Slovak, Turkish and Ukrainian languages. The other benefit is that users have the benefit to translate English printed text into languages like Hindi and Thai.

The Google professionals opine that over half of the content on the Internet is in English, however only around 20 per cent of the world’s population speaks English. Hence, the Google Translate App helps users to communicate better. They can get the information they need on real time and without a data connection.

The modes operandi is quite simple! A user will see the text transform live on their screens into the language they prefer.

The technology firm has been updating the Google Translate app to ensure more number of people experience the world in their language.

The instant visual translation has been expanded to 20 additional languages thereby making a total of 27 languages, and this has made real-time voice translations a lot faster and smoother.
